Union Symphony Youth Chamber Players
Union Symphony Youth Chamber Players Vivace Strings is a chamber ensemble of talented Union Symphony Youth Orchestra students. The ensemble meets prior to Union Symphony Youth Orchestra rehearsals to rehearse a repertoire of orchestral music.
Union Symphony Youth Chamber Players Allegro Strings and Dorian Fiddles under the direction of Beth Joy Fowler meets weekly to rehearse a repertoire of art and traditional music. Students of stringed instruments with two years of formal training may apply. A $25 membership fee is payable by mail to Union Symphony Society, Inc. 201 North Main Street, Suite 109 • Monroe, NC 28112.
There will be several performance venues for youth chamber musicians including Festival in the Park in Charlotte, NC, the Art Walk in Historic Downtown Monroe, the Red Cross Rhapsody in Red Charity Ball as well as lobby performances preceding USYO concerts.
Union Jazz is an ensemble of youth and adult musicians for the study and expression of improvisational jazz. Union Jazz in under the direction of Dennis Contreras. The ensemble meets to rehearse on select Sunday afternoons and has performed for such venues as Art Walk Downtown Monroe and Art Walk King’s Drive Charlotte as well as the Union Symphony Speakeasy, Turning Point, Union County Community Arts Council and others. An annual membership fee of $150 helps to offset instructional costs for the ensemble.
