Pops on the Plaza

Our third annual Pops on the Plaza kicked off with “The Star Spangled Banner” and concluded with the energetic “Danzas Cubanas”. The crowd of over 700 people was especially livened up by Union Symphony Youth Orchestra’s vivacious rendition of the Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana hit song “Smooth”. Prelude Junior Strings (Director Amanda Turner) and Union Jazz (Director Dennis Contreras) performed prior to the concert. Thank you, students and staff, for your phenomenal performances and thank you to all who came to the pops to support USYO.

Auditions

Auditions will be held Sunday, June 5. Each student will receive an arrival time for their audition from USYO Manager Carol Wiley. Please submit your application online and also view the audition requirements. The audition fee of $10 is due in the symphony office at 201 N. Main Street by noon Friday, June 3. Otherwise students will need to pay a $15 audition fee at the door.
